Is June the Mrs. Bill Halbert listed in our yearbook. I never knew Mrs. Halbert's first name. Any info on her or Mrs. McCray would be appreciated. I need the first names of several other teachers. Take a look at our new teacher page and send me any of the first names you know. Thanks, Bill Lamkins (12/26/01) RE TEACHERS: Miss Agee McCray - Agee E. McCray - I believe - she was never married and was sister to the old Dr. McCray and aunt to Dr. Raymond McCray. Mrs. Charles Baker was Sarah Marie Baker - mother of Billy Mac, Mary Jim, Sarita and June Baker Mrs. Halbert's name was June - had a daughter named Jan who is also deceased Mrs. Hilliard Jones was Pauline Goodman Jones - aunt of one of our class members - Betsy Mason McGuire Mrs. Edwards' name I believe was Carolyn Mrs. Franklin's name is Lucille Mrs. Morrison's name - Betty Mrs. Edward Strauss - Doris, I think Mrs. (Clinton) Aggie Mae Sanders - taught piano and choir Mary Jo Avery Bailey (12/26/01) Bill, Ms. McCray was my piano teacher but for the life of me I don't remember ever knowing what her first name was. She taught private lessons in her home. I think Ms. Halbert was Jan Halbert's mother wasn't she, I bet Martha or Butch would remember her. She was also a member of my dad'd church I think, I know Ms. Agee was. That is what I always called her "Ms Agee" Maybe that was her first name. Sorry I think I have a bad case of crs!!! Judy Moody (12/26/01) Yes Judy, she was Jan's mom and she did go to your dad's church. Hope everyone,Jean, James, Butch continue to do well, and hope every one has a happy new year. Butch Henry (12/26/01) Mrs. DeJarnatt is Bernice; Librarian Overton is Florine; The Home Ec teacher was Eunice Tate. And, yes, Mrs. Halbert's name is June. It seems like I should know Mrs. Treadwell's first name but it hasn't come to me. Mrs. Agee was my piano teacher from 1st thru 12th grades. She was always wanting me to improve and practice a lot to perfect the pieces I learned. I think it was a good lesson in trying to do your best. However, sometimes, I was ready to quit. My mom encouraged me and I really liked it most of the time. Now I am thankful for such a good teacher and for a mother who kept me practicing. I sit down to play the piano when I am feeling blue or when I am impatient and always enjoy. I also play for my church every Sunday so I am giving back a little bit, too. Best to you in the New Year. Laura Gephart Adams Class 1964 (12/26/01) Thanks, she also taught us French I think. As for Ms, Agee, I don't think she was ever married and I saw where someone remembered she was kin to Dr. McCray. I had forgotten that. Hope everyone has a great new year. Ya'll come see us if you are ever around Friendship. Judy (12/27/01)
