Guestbook, regencyfuneralhome.com. -Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on 10/11/08 OBITUARY Bobby Newton Holyfield (June 1, 1940 - October 9, 2008) Bobby Newton Holyfield, 68, of Malvern passed from Earth to glory Thursday, October 9th in a Little Rock hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born June 1, 1940 in Morrilton, Arkansas the son of Lee and Ila (Bizzell) Holyfield. A retired supervisor from Wabash Alloys, Bob’s greatest joy was his family. His favorite moments were spent hunting with his sons and grandkids, fishing and camping with his wife, and traveling any distance to cheer on his grandchildren in ballgames, church and school activities. He was a member of Lifepoint Church for thirteen years and served in various capacities, including usher. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Billie Gulledge. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Judy (Burnett) Holyfield; sons, Bobby and Robbie Holyfield; daughters-in-law, Holly and Angela Holyfield; grandchildren, Amber Batchelor, Ashley, Sydney, Lindsey, Ashton, Macy, and Micah Holyfield; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Beth Holyfield; and nephew, Todd Holyfield, all of Malvern. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern. Services will be Sunday, October 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the Regency Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Brumley officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nick Burrow, Adrain Bost, Doug Douglas, Todd Holyfield, Mike Fox, and Rodney Tuggle. I did not know he was 2 years older than us. He probably quit school and joined the armed forces. His brother Doyle was a grade behind me. I think he dropped out too since he's not in the 1959 yearbook - the 10th grade for him.
