Her obituary was published in the MDR on Sep. 5. Bill Lamkins (9/10/02) Charlene Porter Obituary Charlene Porter, 59, of Hot Springs, died Sept. 1, 2002, in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1942, in Malvern. She was a physical therapist, a member of Ladies Auxiliary Post 2278, VFW and was a Methodist. She was predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Betty Bailey Porter, and a brother, Joe Porter. Survivors indude her husband, Carlie Wayne Allen of Hot Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Lagenna Irvin of Hot Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan Angelia and Joe Kerner of Hot Springs; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Barbara Bailey of Malvern; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Jean and Sonny Adams of Poteet, Texas, Sue Vantrease of Malvern, Betty Jane and Willie Mitchell of 29 Palms, Calif., and Lucy and Nick Dunn of Paducha, KY.; and six grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Cemetery in Malvern with Wade Beams officiating. Pallbearers are the VFW Honor Guard.
