The Jun 10 MDR had a short item that Mr. Reddin had died that day,aged 90. Mr. Reddin taught chemistry and biology. His wife taught algebra and died in 1996 at age 78. I'll post the obituary when I get it or, if someone else already has it, they can post it. -Bill lAMKINS Malvern Lee Reddin, 90, of Malvern, Ark., died Friday, June 10, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Calhoun County, Ark., to Robert L. Reddin and Lurline Nichols Reddin. He was a teacher for the Malvern Public Schools. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 15 years as a rural mail carrier in Hot Spring County, Ark. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Malvern. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hautine Adams Reddin; four brothers, Kirby Reddin, Fay Reddin, Bob Reddin and Bill Reddin; and a sister, Mildred Bass. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tom Reddin and Gail Reddin of Bella Vista, Ark.; a brother and sister-inlaw, James Reddin and Emma Jean Reddin of Hampton, Ark.; three sisters and a brother-inlaw, Mable Merritt of Wilmar, Ark., Nell Foster and Gary Foster of Elko, Nev., and Ruth Blann of Hampton; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at the Second Baptist Church of Malvern with the Rev. Don Price and the Rev. Morris Cloud. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Malvern. He was born January 26,1915, in Calhoun County, Ark., to the late Robert L. Reddin and the late Lurline Nichols Reddin. He was a teacher having taught in the Malvern Public Schools. He always took a special interest in his students, and he has definitely left a lasting impression on many. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 15 years as a rural mail carrier in Hot Spring County. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country in World War II and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Malvern. He had many pastimes that he enjoyed, fishing and hunting; in his younger years he was known to have the best squirrel dogs in Hot Spring County. However, his favorite pastime was working in his garden. He loved to share all his produce with his family, friends and neighbors. His kind and generous spirit are well remembered by anyone whose life he touched, however briefly. He is survived by one son, Tom Reddin and his wife Gail of Bella Vista, Ark.; one brother, James Reddin an his wife Emma Jean of Hampton, Ark.; three sisters, Mable Merritt of Wilmar, Ark., Nell Foster and her husband Gary of Elko, Nev., and Ruth Blann of Hampton, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hautine Adams Reddin; his parents; four brothers, Kirby Reddin, Fay Reddin, Bob Reddin, Bill Reddin; and a sister, Mildred Bass. Funeral services scheduled for 10 a. m. Monday, June 13, 2005 in Second Baptist Church of Malvern with the Rev. Don Price and the Rev. Morris Cloud officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemete Malvern, Ark.
