LUCILLE FRANKLIN MATHEMATICS Posted at the Malvern Clubs: I recently found two items in the Social Security Death Index on Agee McCray and June Halbert. Is June the Mrs. Bill Halbert listed in our yearbook. I never knew Mrs. Halbert's first name. Any info on her or Mrs. McCray would be appreciated. I need the first names of several other teachers. Take a look at our new teacher page and send me any of the first names you know. Thanks, -Bill Lamkins (12/26/01) RE TEACHERS: Miss Agee McCray - Agee E. She invites all her family, friends and former students to drop by. Please no gifts, your presence or a card will be all the gift needed. -Malvern Daily Record (10/18/03) I remember many fun times in her classes... particularly being able to help others... preferably females needing assistance. (At that age, all the guys wanted to do was provide assistance to females.) Now, I know that's the way that females control us... act like they do not know, to get our help to save their time while their mental energy is well beyond what we could imagine on our best day. Oh, well! Mrs. Franklin was a dear and she taught well. Getting our heads around "solid geometry" was a tangent wished not taken, but it did come in "handy" later in life. Thank you, Mrs. Franklin, for your dedication, hard work, and tenacity. Perhaps it rubbed off. Our older daughter earned her Master's degree in statistics. -Ken Gray (10/24/03) The March 31st Malvern Daily Record carried a front page article on our math teacher, Mrs. Franklin. Her photo is posted on the Club homepage. (Article is separate file) -Bill Lamkins (4/8/04) Re: [Malvern1960] Article on Mrs. Franklin Remember her fondly and with the pride of knowing her and having learned under her tutilage. Hope she is still alive, or is this notice of her passing? -Ken Gray (4/8/04) Re Mrs. Franklin; The article was accompanied by the photo displayed on the Club homepage so she is apparently very alive. -Bill Lamkins (4/13/04) I just got back online on our group site. Ken had told me about R. T., I'm so sorry to hear about him. Great picture of Mrs. Franklin. She doesn't look much older than we do does she? LOL -Judy Keeley (4/13/04) Thought you would want to know that Mrs. Lucille Franklin passed away. Her funeral is today. She was one of my favorite, both as a teacher and personal friend. -Martha Chadwick Lindvall (8/7/10) Hi Martha, Thank's for the info on Mrs. Franklin. I had not heard.
