RAYMOND KEITH I just received a phone call from Nell Rose Walters Snyder, and she told me that Raymond Keith passed away today. He was going outside (supposedly to pick up the newspaper) and when he leaned down to pick it up, he had a heart attack. This is unconfirmed by the family. Gurtie Ann Lucy Harp received the information from another source. I didn't want to post this until I had all of the information correct. They are going to have the service in Tennessee and then Raymond will be brought to Malvern to be buried. I don't know if they will have a memorial service or not. This is all I know for now. I will send you more when I find out the details for sure. Martha Chadwick Lindvall (12/11/00) I just received a phone call from Nell Rose Walters Snyder and she told me that Raymond Keith died today. I don't know all of the particulars, but Nell Rose was told that Raymond had found out about a week ago that the cancer had returned. Today, he was going outside ( to get the newspaper, she thinks) and when he leaned down, he had a heart attack. Evidentially, one of his neighbors saw him. From there, it gets sketchy. Nell Rose said that the funeral would be in Tennessee, but the burial would take place in Malvern. If anyone finds out anything more, please let me know. I am so glad that he got to come to the reunion. He had a great time! I would also like to take the time to say, "Happy Holidays!" We should cherish the days that we sometimes take for granted. Later... Martha Chadwick Lindvall (12/11/00) Bill, did you see the message from Martha? Raymond was at the Reunion and looked so good. I never will forget how Mr. Tucker harrassed Raymond in class all the time. Raymond (or Pete as Mr. Tucker nicknamed him) was convinced that Mr. Tucker was serious. Perhaps he cared about Raymond and his future and that was his way of showing it. Jean Edwards Freeman (12/12/00) Thanks for getting the news to me. I'll try to get the obituary off the MDR site. Then put together something on our Memorial Page. Be grateful for every day! Bill Lamkins (12/13/00) Bill, thanks for posting Raymond's obit. I don't think there is anyone who didn't like Raymond. He was always so nice. Aren't we lucky to have our health? I do intend going to the funeral service. Jean Edwards Freeman (12/13/00)
